Adventures With Grandma and Technology

A little background: my voicemail only says my first initial and last name, not my full name. I made this choice for a variety of reasons, not realizing how much this could confuse the people in my life. Here is a breakdown of some of the confusion:

My Grandma calls while I'm at work, so I let it go to voicemail. She leaves a message that’s just her hanging up.

Being always the polite one, she calls again to apologize to the stranger she just hung up on for hanging up and explains that she was trying to call her son.

Grandma calls a third time because she realizes it’s me and leaves a message explaining that she thought she was trying to apologize to stranger for hanging up on them and that she was trying to call my dad.

Grandma calls a fourth time and leaves another message saying that she was still trying to call my dad but my number is under his in her address book, but it’s dark in her room and she doesn’t have her glasses on.

Grandma calls a fifth time, leaves a message with one muttered curse word, hangs up.

I finally call Grandma, chit chat for a bit and then call my father begging him to just call the woman.

During the call, Grandma leaves another message that says, “Hello, it's your grandmother. I saw you called?”  WE JUST TALKED ON THE PHONE.

End of adventure.
